Al’s Formal Wear Kicks Off 2007 With a Major Expansion!

After 55 years as a leader in the formal wear industry, over 100 retail tuxedo locations and a successful wholesale division, Al's Formal Wear continues to thrive. In fact, they are kicking off 2007 with a major expansion. On Monday, they purchased Anderson's Formal Wear based out of Plano, Texas.

Al's will add Anderson's Midland, Odessa and San Angelo retail stores to its current list of over 100 Al's Formal Wear locations in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Also, Al's wholesale division, Ascot Formal Wear, will begin servicing Anderson's wholesale accounts that were serviced out of their Plano base. Anderson's is retaining their Kansas City and Minneapolis operations.

"As of today, Monday, February 5th, we will be turning over the operations of our Plano facility to Al's Formal Wear and their wholesale division, Ascot Formal Wear," said Dave Frana, Anderson's President. “Al's has been servicing brides and bridal related businesses since 1952, and brings with them an outstanding selection of tuxedos and accessories, knowledgeable sales staff, competitive pricing and the highest level of customer service."

"We are thrilled to welcome Anderson's stores, wholesale accounts and employees to our organization -- the Al's family," said Stuart Gaylor, President and Chief Financial Officer of Al's Formal Wear.

Gaylor added, "Our business from day one was built on providing excellent customer service and quality merchandise at affordable prices, and we still operate on this same premise today! We look forward to continuing to service the customers in these areas and bringing to them the Al's Formal Wear difference!"

In November 2006, Al's added locations in Abilene, Texas and Lafayette, Louisiana. Al's Formal Wear, a family-owned and operated business based out of Houston, Texas, is one of the largest family-owned and operated businesses in the United States and currently employs over 500 workers.

Rounding out Al's services to consumers is CRDN of Greater Houston South, which specializes in restoring clothing and other fabric items damaged by fires and floods.
